Service Description

6 Week Session Dates: April 13, 20, 27 + May 4, 18, 25 (Note- there will be no class on May 11) Have a little one that loves to dance? Join this fun creative dance class that fosters imagination while developing gross motor skills and learning to follow step by step directions. The format follows that of a traditional dance class beginning with stretching, warm ups, across the floor, imaginative dance and learning simple choreography. Props may be used. Children will explore a variety of dance forms including: jazz, beginning ballet and hip hop. Upon completion of the 6 weeks, we will have a mini recital for parents! What to wear: ballet, jazz shoes or socks with grip or barefeet. Comfortable, stretchy clothing, leotards and tutus are welcome! Hair must be up. Instead of us using props, we invite you to bring a "dance buddy" small sized stuffed animal to class each week! Kids will get to dance with them at certain times in class. ;) Masks or faceshields are optional. Check out all the fun skills we'll work on! Gross Motor: Skipping, hopping, marching, jumping, chasse, burre... Directional: right, left, up, down, foreword... Step by Step directions: Learn short dance choreography Creative: freeze dance, interpretive/imaginary dances. Rhythm: clapping exercises, music p.s. Tuesdays we have Open Play in Unit F from 10am - 12:30pm. Want to join for play in our playroom before or after class? You can get a discounted open play rate for $5.
